Forex
Forex, or foreign exchange market, began its history in 1971 after the US abandoned the gold standard. This decision led to the collapse of the Bretton Woods system of monetary management, and as a result, exchange rates began to fluctuate freely. This opened up the possibility of a new type of financial activity – currency trading.
Since then, the Forex market has grown significantly, and today its daily turnover exceeds 7 trillion dollars. Forex remains an interbank market where central banks, investment funds, commercial banks, dealers, brokers, and large multinational companies participate.
Stocks
Stocks are securities that prove ownership of a stake in a company. By becoming a shareholder, an investor gains the right to participate in making important decisions at shareholder meetings, such as selecting management team or approving strategic decisions. In addition, shareholders are entitled to dividends, which are a portion of the company’s profits distributed among the investors.
In the stock market, participants can earn profits in various ways. Investing involves buying stocks to hold them for a long time, which is often accompanied by receiving dividends and the appreciation of stock value over time. Speculation, on the other hand, includes frequent buying and selling of stocks to profit from short-term price fluctuations.
Indices
Stock indices are indicators reflecting the state of the securities market, based on a group of stocks. These indices allow traders to analyze the overall market dynamics, which is more illustrative and accurate than studying individual stocks. They are also an excellent tool for determining the current phase of the business cycle and forecasting its further development.
Stock indices can be traded using Contracts for Difference (CFDs), allowing traders to make profits from both rising and falling index values. This makes indices an attractive addition to the investment portfolio and also helps to mitigate financial risks.
Commodities
The commodity market is an exchange on which various types of goods are traded in accordance with international standards. This includes non-ferrous and precious metals, energy resources such as oil and natural gas, and agricultural products like grain and livestock.
Commodity exchanges can be versatile, offering a wide selection of commodity assets for trading. However, there are also specialized markets that focus on specific types of goods, such as metals or energy carriers. At OXY Global, you gain access to a variety of global marketplaces offering a wide range of products for your trading.
